Our Association has Three New World Champions
2011-11-07 00:00:00
The FILA Grappling world championship were held in Tamási between 4-6th of
November. Hungary won the NoGi and the Gi category too. Ten Hungarian
competitors reached the World Champion title, three of them are the members
of our Association: Bettina Seprenyi from Monorierdő dojo, Dávid Rácz from
Orosháza dojo and Kristóf Szűcs from Tatami Centre. Congratulations!

Dávid Rácz in Juniors 110 kgs won the NoGi and the Gi category too

There were several reason why the World Championship were held in Tamási. Last year Hungary performed very well in the World Championship in Dakovo, we reached the stage, that is why the FILA gave the right of the directing for our country this year. The forger of this result was Gábor Szőts, who won both the Veteran NoGi event in 75 kgs and Gi event. He leads a club in Tamási and Szekszárd. The Vályi Péter Secondary School has excellent capability (big coliseum, student hostel, etc.) it is ideal place for this championship.

Kristóf Szűcs got silver and brass medals in NoGi and gold and silver in Gi

This race is World Championship for Cadets (between 16-17 years old), Juniors (between 18-19 years old) and Veterans (up to 35 years old) too. We arranged National race for Schoolboys/girls (between 12-13 years old) and Juniors (between 14-15 years old) at the same time, and we arranged a Grand Prix for Adults (between 20-35 years old). The Grand Prix is more than a National race, because the result of it counts for the yearly gradiation (beside the Adult World Championship and European Championship). There were two Grand Prixes this year, a Swiss and a Hungarian.

Only the Tatami Centre was at the World Championship last year from the Clubs of our Association, then Sándor Fekete and Sándor Lakatos received World Champion title. This year 17 competitors started from three clubs and they had excellent results. The ju jitsu proved in a subsequent competition again.
